Local Programs and Camps in the South Shore and Beyond

While the Norwell Grange does not offer programming yet, there are several great organizations in the area that do! Below you will find a list of local organizations that offer agricultural, environmental and marine programs, classes and summer camps for youth, teens and adults. 

Local Youth and Teen Programs

Plymouth County 4-H

4-H is the largest youth development organization in the country, delivered by a Cooperative Extension, a branch of public universities. This program is available for youth ages 5 to 18. To find the right 4-H group for your child in Plymouth or Bristol county, click the logo above.

Dalby Farm

A rare breeds farm and country store located in Scituate, Dalby Farm offers a variety of events, programs and a summer camp for youth. Dalby Farm teaches environmental conservation through their protection and preservation of endangered farm animal breed. For more information, click the logo above.

Channell Homestead

Channell Homestead, located in Hanson, offers several programs for youth and families and a summer camp for youth ages 6 to 12. For more information, click the logo above. 

Holly Hill Farm

Holly Hill is an organic educational farm in Cohasset. They offer a significant number of programs for youth and teens all year long including homeschool programs, after-school classes and summer camp. Plymouth Ag Careers

Plymouth County Extension, in conjunction with UMass Extension, is hosting a hands-on learning experience this summer for teens aged 13-18 who are interested in exploring a variety of careers in agriculture. For more information, click the logo above. 

The Trustees of the Reservation

The Trustees of the Reservation offers a variety of agricultural and ecology themed programs and summer camps at their Weir River Farm and World's End properties, located in Hingham, Ma. These programs are tailored for youth and teens, ranging from 2-14 years old. For more information, click the logo above. 

Soule Homestead Education Center

Soule Homestead Education Center

Located in Middleboro, the Soule Homestead Education Center offers a wide range of youth educational programming including summer camps, vacation week camps, early childhood and teen programs. For more information, click the logo above.

South Shore Natural Science Center

The South Shore Natural Science Center, located in Norwell, is a branch of the Emilson YMCA. They offer a variety of programs and summer camps for youth and families. For more information, click the logo above. 

Natural Resources Trust of Easton

The Natural Resources Trust of Easton offers youth programming and summer camp as well as family friendly events throughout the year. For more information, click the logo above.

Camp Bourndale

Camp Bourndale, located in Plymouth, offers summer camp programs for youth and teens, with activities including marine science and dissections. For more information, click the logo above.

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, located in Brewster, offers a variety of nature-based summer camps for youth and teens. For more information, click the logo above.

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute offers one summer program, the Ocean STEAM Powered Women Fellowship, for Massachusetts women entering their sophomore or junior year of high school. For more information, click the logo above. 

Waquoit Bay Summer Science School

Based in Falmouth, the Waquoit Bay Summer Science School offers coastal ecology based summer adventure programs for youth and teens. For more information, click the logo above. 

Burgess Farm

Burgess Farm located at Camp Burgess in Sandwich, offers camper the opportunity to help grow food for the camp and the wider community while learning about local and sustainable food systems. Campers at Camp Burgess and Hayward can choose to sign up for the daily farm interest group, at the beginning of each camp week. This camp is for youth and teens aged 7-16. Adventures in Veterinary Medicine

Tufts University offers their summer program, Adventures in Veterinary Medicine, for those in middle school, high school or college. This program is located in their campus in North Grafton. Form more information, click the logo above.

Bristol Aggie

The Bristol Aggie offers Summer Agventures programs for 5th-8th graders.  Topics covered include animal science, veterinary science, horsemanship, homesteading, environmental construction, Bonsai gardening, arboriculture and environmental science. For more information, click the logo above. 

Penikese Island School

The Penikese Island School, located in Buzzard's Bay, offers an off-the-grid sleepaway summer camp for girls in 7th and 8th grade, focusing on environmental stewardship and fostering the next generation of female scientists. For more information, click the logo above. 

Children's School of Science

The Children's School of Science, located in Wood's Hole, offers marine focused summer classes for older youth and teens. For more information, click the logo above.

Lloyd Center for the Environment

The Lloyd Center for the Environment, located in Dartmouth, offers summer programs for youth, focusing on coastal ecology. For more information, click the logo above. 

Sea Education Association

Atlantic White Shark Conservancy

Farm and Wilderness

The Farm and Wilderness summer camps in Plymouth, Vermont offer sleep away camps for teens focusing on environmental sustainability, carpentry, art, agriculture and homesteading. For more information, click the logo above.

Local Adult Programs

MA Master Gardener Association

Massachusetts Master Gardener's Association offers several educational programs and events throughout the year including Garden Boot Camp, Gardening Know-How Series, Master Gardener Certification program and their annual Symposium. For more information, click the logo above.

South Shore Permaculture

South Shore Permaculture offers courses and workshops throughout the year including their annual Permaculture Design Course and their upcoming Fundamentals of Design weekend. For more information, click the logo above. 

Massachusetts Horticultural Society

The Massachusetts Horticultural Society at The Elm Bank Garden in Wellesley, offers numerous classes and workshops throughout the year ranging in topics from pruning techniques to botanical art. For more information, click the logo above.

Mass Audubon

Mass Audubon has a regular schedule of programs, field school opportunities and certificate courses for continuing adult education. Topics include Field Naturalist, birding and environmental conservation. For more information, click the logo above.
